Skilled visa income thresholds rise 3.8% from 1 July 2026

Income thresholds for employer-sponsored skilled visas were indexed by 3.8% on 1 July 2026, in line with average weekly earnings.

  • Core Skills Income Threshold: $76,515 to $79,423 (482 Core Skills stream and 186 nominations).
  • Specialist Skills Income Threshold: $141,210 to $146,576 (482 Specialist Skills stream).
  • Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold: $76,515 to $79,423 (494 and 187 nominations).
  • New nominations lodged from 1 July 2026 must meet the new threshold. Existing visa holders and earlier nominations are not affected.
